I haven't talked to you for a bit, Dennis. I thought that you might enjoy this photo. The DeSoto belongs to Bill Chaplis of Emmaus, PA. I took it two years ago at the 50th anniversary of the Push Rods Auto Club of Waltham, MA. I'm a relatively new member. I joined in 1962.

Hi Dennis, I hope your employment situation has improved. The truck is actually on the road! I have a power steering issue that I am going to attempt to fix today, then I am going to pick up a custom made A/C high pressure hose. With a little luck I can be riding in a cool cab by tomorrow!
Randy, The DeSoto really is a nice car. The sad part is that the Moon discs are covering his homemade wheel inserts that look exactly like the original wooden wheels. He (Bill) regularly drives this car between Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and seldom even carries a tool kit. This car is extremely reliable. He is currently building a 401 Nailhead powered Buick (around a 1930) Coupe. The Coupe has a Corvette rear end and a custom Fatman front suspension. Bill is a member of the New England Hot Rod Hall of Fame (and deservedly so). His work is unbelievable, and he does virtually everything himself.

i would think that the smaller jets should be in the centers, so you can run leaner all the time and then when the end carbs kick in at higher rpms the bigger jets can prevent lean out..... carbs lean out as more and more air is pulled thru them....also the engine rpms need to be up when the end carbs are activated to prevent bog....
