Sorry for this post, it must beinthe Archive somewhere but I searched last night and could not find it.

Are all 401 425 bellhousings the same or interchangeable between the years?
    I may have a lead on a 63 and I would want it for my 66 401.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Sal

    Hi Sal,

The bellhousings all interchange between the 364, 401 and 425

    thank you.
Unfortunately the bell housing is so far out of my reach now I couldn't afford it if I wanted to.

    Thank for the info though.

    nailheadracer,
    That's Great news!!!
I will have to start saving now!!!
I really want to use my nailhead in one my projects (non Buick, shame on me)
but I didn't want to change the motor around to work with auto trans I would be forced to use.
Will you be able to support the novice such as myself with the rest of the parts needed, excepting the actual trans of course? I will most likely have to use aftermarket hydraulic throw out bearings as a mechanical linkage would be near impossible in my combo - I think.

    Thanks,
    Sal
