While working on the 1964 Riviera I crimped the lines while doing new motor mounts and managed to make a hole in one of the hard lines. My question is can I use -6 steel braided line with AN fittings to replace the hard lines? Or do I have to use the braided teflon stuff? Thanks Gerry

Why not just braise the hole up????

It was more of a hassle to take them out, I can't imagine putting them back in. I guess i'll go with the regular braided line and see what happens..

There is SOOO many varieties and flavors of hose out there, so you need to be careful what you mean by "regular' hose. Each manufacturer of the hose should be able to tell you what fluids their hose is compatible with and the pressure rating. If you go to your local hose shop they will have charts. Assuming you using Dextron/Mercron ATF fluid...DO NOT GET FUEL LINE HOSE! Most of the single layer wire braided rubber is Nitrile, and rated only for low pressure to about 250PSI max. I know the wire braided teflon hose (PTFE) is definately compatible and is high pressure. If you want to go wire braided, this is the way to go. You should use this for the high pressure systems systems such as power steering, transmission, clutch/brake systems. It is also good for high temps.
