I'm looking for an NOS or just plain new motor ,if they are available. I can't imagine GM used this just for Buicks or even just A bodies. Any info as to cross-referencing would also be helpful. The part number I have is 5045616 on a foil decal. Under that is a date code. I currently have the original motor , as well as one from a parts car ,and neither is working. :Dou: If someone knows of a rebuilder, that would be helpful if I can't find a new one. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Kevin.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

The motor is quite common, a rectangular unit with 4 screws holding the case together. Let me know the year. A local yard may have one and I can check it out on Friday.

72 GS . I came up with a third motor today, out of a 66 Electra and it is identicle to the original , other than place of manufacture . It only has TWO screws holding it together , and I have a spare from a 72 parts car. None of the three motors , three relays or two transmissions I have will do anything in any combination. The relay closes , and the solenoids are pulling shut like they're supposed to , but the motors won't turn. I need to try with the engine running and the charging system working properly , as I have been trying with a battery charger as a power source and the drop is significant when the switch is pressed. I don't want the headaches of paying for and shipping another motor if that's not the problem. I will look into having one of the motors rebuilt by a very reputable shop locally come fall , if I can't find any solution. I just find it strange that none of the 3 work. Not even in a no-load condition with no cables attached. Tracks are immaculate and well lubed and operate fine in all directions powering the cables with a DeWalt drill. I may get docked points for that in the future, though.
