I ordere a lower shift boot for my 69 from OPGI. They say there is no retaining ring for it and its just supposed to be glued down between the floor and carpet. Is this true? If so can anyone recommend an adheasive?
    Thanks in advance

I believe there is a ring that screws the boot through the carpet and into the floor.

The ring is very hard to find and is not reproduced at all. You could try just using the GM style trim screws with the large chrome washer to hold it in place. At least it will keep the boot in place. If your using a console, you really wouldnt see it anyway.

LOL, I think I saw Duane say on at least TWO different occasions, "OK, this is the LAST batch!".

Personally, I just went the screw and washer route and that worked fine. My car came from the factory with no lower boot! :Dou: Talk about a blast furnace, especially after putting in an x-pipe.

thanks guys, Ill give the screws and washers a try. Does the "flap" part of the boot goes under the carpet or on top?
