I have just about accumulated all the parts i need for my four speed conversion. I am lacking the shifter. What is everyone doing for this? Are alot of the shifter bodies the same, just the shifter handle is different on a buick gs 70-72? I have a couple four speed shifters but they are out of camaros. The handles are shorter. Does anyone have what i need?,,,,or maybe steer me in the right direction. Thanx
Hi Dennis - I've been looking for the same thing for a while and its NOT an easy piece to get. I've had several people tell me the Oldmobile shifter handle is /almost is the same exact shape as our buick handle but with an "H" inthead of "Hurst" on the side and the shifter mechanism for a Muncie should be the same. Hope this helps....
Look on ebay for hurst shifter for a 442, they should have the correct 3138 shifter body. The 442 handles are as close as you can get. Most will have the 442 stamped in the shifter handle. Regular Cutlass models that were 4 speeds would have the "H" stamped in the lower part of the shifter handle. Dave Kliener is supposed to have correct GS shifter handles as we speak. He also has the correct shifter linkage also.

Hey Dennis. . I have read your posts to me . .however, I need to mention this...if you go back to my original post you will see I state "HANDLE" ..! The shifter unit IS NOT available.... I need it for a 4 speed project. .JUST THE Olds chrome HURST handle with the "H" is what I have offered...
