Why nobody likes 4-door cars, is it because its to heavy with four doors or..........................?
We like ours ! But our GS's are great also. It's all about what you like . They all cost money to rebuild , restore, etc. You hardly ever come up on top when you sell them so you may as well enjoy what you want to drive . The four door car's are hard to find parts for, but then again so are the 2 door cars . :3gears: :3gears:
I am really surprised no one on here has a sleeper 70-72 Skylark 4 door with a killer 455! Maybe I should do it! There are a lot of little ol lady 4 doors out there! Todd
The same thing happens to 4 door cars in shows. I have a friend with a 4 door Comet who always gets passed up for lesser 2 door cars. It is just prejudice, people like 2 door cars better. One guy around here took a '64 chevy and cut out the rear section with the rear doors and made a short car with 2 doors. It really looks cool, you can't tell where the seams are.
Funny thing, the ride on my LeSabre seemed sooo much more solid compared to the covertible. When I got in that car for the last time and drove it home to wash it, I had second thoughts about selling it!! It is such a nice ride.
I just know I have a kick &$$ Buick and nothing or no one is going to change my mind. Someday it might actually have more balls than it already has. Larry Long Live the A-body!!
I have a 1970 4 door Chevelle with 15" Z28 alloy rims. A lot of people look past the 4 doors and offer " Nice car." I had two comments at the gas station tonight.
Four doors are usually a bargain price. Some actually look as good or better than the two door counterparts. The 57 Chevy, and 67/68 Wildcat four door hardtops come to mind here. Anyway, if you ain't gotta a truck for a daily driver, the four door is the next best thing. I like em'.
I had a cool 71 Skylark 4 door when I was a teenager- It was black with doggie dish hubcaps, posi, and the factory towing package. I paid 400 bucks for it and I loved it. I remember there was a redline snow tire in the trunk! Todd
I like 4 doors. My girlfriends car is a 67 Special deluxe 4dr that we are making a GS400 4dr clone out of. Engine is being rebuilt right now, trans is next.
I don't think I'd have the guts to pass up a '70 Skylark 4 door hardtop if one ever came across for the right price. I think I've only ever seen one pillarless '70 4 door, and that was on evilbay. I sure wish this car had been closer, it would have been mine. Gold vinyl top too, very rare. It probably ended up in the crusher :ball:
I really like 4 door hardtops. The LeSabre is fun with all four windows completely down and no post in the way. The post cars have an unbeatable sleeper look though. My 70 Skylark 4dr sedan is still my daily driver, but someday it may be treated to a nasty motor.
Organ donors Apologies in advance to 4-dr lovers, but I see a 4-dr Buick as an organ donor [the big block] for my GS400 clone project.:Brow:
Re: Organ donors Most people do... no offense taken. We'll just have to find them before you do!:moonu::laugh:
The 4 door bobc455 has is exactly what I meant. Way too cool! I'd love to see more pics! What EFI are you running? Todd
Another four door fan here. Here's a pic of mine after taking it for a short drive today. The 50 degree weather was too much for me, and I couldn't wait any longer to get it out.
