Please. Google it for yourself. There are plenty of information sources at your fingertips. You have to be willing to admit what you think you know is wrong and accept facts that you clearly don't want to agree with. Society has to stop placing their opinions over facts.

Good thing about solar is once the snow comes off them and there is snow on the ground they really crank out. Almost makes up for loss of output while covered.
Dry snow tends to blow right off....and not block output.
Just my observations from my system.....

So, as someone who just got solar system in the Chicago-land area let me make a few comments. How much energy the panels produce, depends on how many hours of direct sunlight they get. They make more power in the summer than in winter by that metric alone. But they do still make power in winter. Right now my panels are covered in several inches of snow. I can confirm that there is no power output from them at this moment (they gave me an app so I can see how much power they make at any time). Earlier when there was a lot less snow on them they were producing power but less than when they were completely clear.

FWIW on a bright full moon they produce just not much.. Now a rainy day they produce less in comparison to just a cloudy day..

Ok. Math this out... that would mean how many hours of sun in the summer?

I owe you nothing. Perfect example of the issue. You have access to nearly the entirety of the human knowledge and you refuse to learn any from any of it. I am quite sure I'd get no where anyway.

Yes, they do. Snow is translucent and light still shines through it. Capacity is diminished some as the snow gets thicker of course. You'll notice that they are angled and smooth. They do a decent job of shedding snow and don't stay covered long.

How do we even know there are wind turbines or solar panels in Texas? :rolleyes:Hmmm...

TexasT Texas, where are you from

I've seen the turbines in several locations and My Brother in Midland has solar panels on his house. So, I can confirm, we do in fact have turbines and solar panels in Texas.

The drawback, the grid must be on for his panels to produce. Not sure of how that is good or if there is a work around. But without the grid his particular panels don't produce power. Might be a safety feature so it doesn't back feed the grid.

What amazed me was that even in the rain there was output.

My point was that a board member was saying pictures on google simply can't be trusted, which by extension means we shouldn't trust anything we hear or read anywhere. His argument was just silly.

It is a safety feature. If they want to work on the lines, they don't want solar systems to keep putting power into the lines. The electric company will shut them off when they need to.

There is a way to keep the solar panels producing. You have to buy battery packs to store the power the panels produce. You can literally 'go off the grid' by doing this. Of course it means spending a lot more money on the batteries and controls. I didn't go that route.
