    Hi Everyone,
I'm a new user with a new project as well. It's a '39 41 series with the classic running boards/spare tire mounts that I like. It's got potential, but right now it's a rust bucket and needs lots of welding before I even start with the motor/trannie.Lot's of sheet metal work, Oh Joy! That may not be all bad , because what I really want is a convertible or phaeton. Does anyone know anything about ragtop conversions?

    Keep the faith,
    Todd

I know where there is the ultimate, a 48 convt unrestored, and I am afraid to tackle it. You need to be real good and have a lot of time (several years) to do it. Now if I could just harness the skill of Drs Weise and Bucy that would be another story.

What little I do know doesn't sound too heavy for an experienced welder. Most of the reinforcement taking the place of the lost top seems to come from a seat bolster that made a bulkhead out of the front seat and braced up the shortened door posts. It would be nice to hear from someone who has actually done one of these older models. Thanks Jim.
