I know, I know, it's the V8 Buick website. But this is where I'm starting.

I'm looking for a 3800 for my '88 Park Ave. that has an engine code "C" in it right now. Anybody out there have a real cheap one that's close around Nebraska?

    Thanks,

    P.D.

PD - Check the LeSabre T-Type Forum - pretty sure I remember seeing some guys in the midwest.

I'd freshen up the timing chain set and cam sensor/magnet while you have it out. Unless you have a known low mileage donor. Chain stretch is common with higher miles, so is the Code 41 Cam Sensor (often turns out to be the magnet on the inside cover).

    David G de-modded....

P.D., this may be a little far for you, but there's a 3800 in today's Fargo newspaper:

Would also suggest a new harmonic balancer. These things have the rubber deteriorate over time.

David - A 92 would be a Vin L engine. Could be made to work, but there are some minor differences.

Robert - Good point on the harmonic balancer. The bolt should be replaced with new as well.....Vin C engines have a slip on balancer, so the bolt does the work.
