Does anyone know what year 3800 V6 powerplants will work 100% correctly in a 1997 normally aspirated engine. My daughter drove the 1997 Olds LSS till it died this weekend. The engine is toast! Thanks AL.

I'm not familiar withe OLDS but I have a 97 REGAL GS sc and my wifes
Regal is a 2001 non supercharged 3800---I believe in the REGALS-- 97-04s
are completely interchangeable---I would also think any Buick,Olds,Pontiac
or Chev 3800 would exchange (1997-2004), hope it gets well soon. Pete in CA

Thanks for your follow up!:beer . My daughter is now driving a 95 Lumna APV van until I get the Olds LSS off life support and in to the recovery room. I think the Olds and LeSabre are in the same bloodlines. So in short you are saying the 97-04 are the same? One thing that confused me was the series 1-2-3 models and knowing the differences, Thanks AL.:beer

Hi again Al--if your OLDS body is like the Lesabre---same deal-- the 3800
Supercharged and non supercharged go in the Lesabre and again the motors
from 97-04 are the same albeit some small differences that I should know
but dont:Do No: been playing with 455s now about a year and half and the Regals
feel neglected:( Also I believe the PRE97 3800 has some major differences
internally but I think dimensionwise they are identical. Pete
