The Gestapo is alive and well up there yet I see,I make this comment from my own experiences from a time I visited there, the authorities up there really suck.

Ok this is how I see it in Ontario!!, Up to this year anything 20 years old or older didn't need "E" test, eg my daugthers 85 Sunbird, needed an "E" test to get her plates renewed last year, but don't need it this year. So if your car came with cat's on. They only way they are gone to check you is visually by random inspection... UP to this year the inspection date was rolling, every year it progressed a year. Until this year they have pegged it. Anything made in 1988 and newer will require an "E" test every year from now on... I think there are two ways around this, Historic Plates, which if you read your fine print limits the use of your vechial to parades, shows, too and from shows or road testing (we are always road testing). The other option is farm plates, but your classic car is going to look pretty silly with farm plates.
About duals and cats, my mother-in-laws 83 Crown Vic came from the factory with dual exhaust and dual cats. never had a problem.
Did I get off on a tangent rant :Dou: , It just pisses my off that the Ontario Goverment can change the rules whenever they like.
The other one I'm unclear about in Ontario is modified drive train, but that's for another thread.
This is how I read it anyway.
    Thanks Bruce

In Ontario, Canada anything 1988 and newer will need an e-test untill the car is expired. My 87 Monte Carlo passed this year (Buick 3.8) and I will not need one again according to the present laws. Now it's Big Block Buick time for the work/winter beater.
