Can anyone tell me where to find the numbers that will tell me which motor I have in my 60' LeSabre Conv?? I was told it was the optional 401, but I may be selling it and want to verify this. If I can't find the numbers, maybe someone could tell me the physical differences between the motors. Thanks very much for any help.

According to my information, the model year 1960 LeSabre came only with the 364 engine (2 or 4 barrel carburator)

The Invicta and Electra had the 401 engine.

Anyway, here are the engine codes:

    364 :

    3G or L3G

    401 :

    4G

    Rob,

    Book says:

"Engine numbers were stamped in various locations on crankcase, usually, or cylinder block...."

I checked 4 different books, and they al say the 364 was the only engine for the model year 1960 LeSabre series.....:Do No:

LeSabre got the 364 motor only. 401 was available for the Invicta and Electra series cars.

If you measure between the bolts holding the intake it will be 8 3/4-8 7/8 between them if it is a 364. If it is a 401 it will be 9 1/4- 9 3/8
