Wanting to swap engine in my 55. I need a 364 preforably one out of a 57-58. Running motor, preforably.
Why a 364? Just Curious (I have a 55 Century), why a 364? It won't bolt up to your '55 Tranny, and if your going through all of the trouble of a tranny swap and rear-end/driveshaft modification, and you want a Nailhead, why not go to a 401/425?
I would have to change the rear end too and do a lot more fabricating.Engine mounts and the tranny hook up shold'nt be that big of a deal. Actualy if I find 322 I,m probably jusy going to use it. Parts seem a lot easyer to get for the 322. Just droping a engine in would be nice. I just helped a friend with his engine swap and it made me think the 322 is probably the way to go. Nailheads are expensive enough on there own with out adding all the extras that come with putting in the 364 or a 401 for that matter. Know anywhere to get a 322?
