we are currently finishing up on some porting on some 350 iron heads. These heads came to us with the larger TA stainless valves already installed and set-up and some basic porting.

The heads started off flowing about 247 cfm at .400, but they fell off drastically at anything over .400 lift on the intake side.
We now have these heads flowing 265 cfm at just under .500 lift and right at 190 cfm on the exhaust.
The flow is better at .100, .200, .300, about 5 cfm less at .400, and of course way better at .500 lift .
these heads should rock and roll.

    Cost

    Jim,

What would a set of heads like these cost to have done?

    Thanks, David

    Steet or race

Would these heads be at home on the steet?

    Hi guys,
These heads will be used on the 350 Mr. Burek is building for me. After experiencing a bent exhaust valve and other things that didn't look right to me in the engine that was in my car I decided to use Jim Burek's services as there isn't many shops out there that can correctly machine and build a Buick engine. After reading so many posts where the machine shop screwed up I figure I would go with one of the best and relieve myself of that burden. As far as the specifics go, I'll let Mr. Burek tell you guys as he's the one who knows everything about it, thanks :TU:

Absolutely. We really did not go in and hog out the ports, in fact, the cross sectional area is very close to stock. The low lift numbers have really come up quite nicely.

I won't quote any prices for this work on the boards, but it is affordable. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

I know you don't like to give away trade secrets  , but any suggestions on where the best results were gained? I'm gonna be porting a set of head for mine in the next week or so, I've done one set before, but have no flow bench to know if I actually did good. (I am using the TA big valves)

You are correct, I don't like to give away trade secrets. SOme of us have spend lots of time and money on learning the secrets of cylinder head porting.
All I can tell you is to clean up the bowl under the valve job, work at smoothing around the guide and cleanup any casting flash in the port and gasket match. But without a flow bench, you will have no idea if what you are doing helps or hurts . Jim Burek
