John, We run a 76 X body with a 350 Buick, in NHRA Stock Eliminator. We currently run a 4.56 gear with a 92" rollout radial slick. I will be testing a 4.88 this weekend. As far as converters, I've been testing with my own brand of 245 mm. (9 in.) race units. I've tried at least 5 combinations so far. Stall speeds have been from 3800 to about 4600.I've been trying to launch the car at peak torque, but I don't have a dyno sheet, so I'm doing it the hard way!
I still am not sold on any one combo yet, though. The problem out here, (Arizona) , is the air, or really the lack of it, in the desert. By the time I can change a converter at the track, the day warms up enough to drive the oxygen density altitude up by over a 1000'.
BTW, our car runs low 12's, at 106 mph, per NHRA Stock rules, at over 3700# with the driver.
I hope this is the kind of info you're looking for. Sorry I can't be more specific yet.
I would be glad to work with you on a converter.
    Call anytime .

Sorry Dan, I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention!
Of course, that's circumference, or rollout.
Trans is a Turbo 200 3 speed. Camshaft is a Bullet Stock Eliminator grind with the required factory lift of .392 / .408. Duration @ .050 is 268 / 276. Weight in N / Stock Automatic is 3720# with the driver.

    mark,
is that a 200r trans? what class do you run?
    i'm doing 2 different combo's here, 77 lark w/350/350 and a 78 hawk that will use a 350 or 455 with a 'glide.
i worry about having to much stall with either setup for the 350. tough to figure out when the stall is to high for the 350. how many rpm's are you turning at the end?
    had enough ?'s yet?
    thanks

Johnny, The Turbo 200 is a 3 speed ( no overdrive). We go thru the quarter at about 6000 rpm's. What weight and what gear ratio's will you be running? Do you run at Epping? , Lebanon Valley?

    mark,
the car weighs 2200 w/motor, 4.89? rear, 31" tall tires, 'glide trans.
i would really like to use the 350 instead of the 455. just have to make it fit in the frame.
when i get it finished, we will test at lebanonvalley.
waiting for salem to race those other 350's
