    Hello all,
Bought an 83 Regal V6 for a SBB 350 swap project. I read somewhere, maybe here that it came with a TH350. Anyone know if that is correct? I could have sworn it would be a 200C. Would it be a lockup 350? Also, do all of the accessory brackets/pulleys fit on the 350? Do you have to use the V6 water pump? And last question, does anyone have any belt part numbers that work? I'm assuming that even though the AC PS etc may bolt to the 350 they're probably gonna need longer belts. Any help GREATLY appreciated. If I can figure out how to post pics, I will. Thanx!!! Jason

    Madcat455 Need..more... AMMO!!!

All of the V6 accessories will bolt right up to the 350... Don't even need to move the engine mount plates..... it'll just drop in.

Check the trans pan for the word "Metric"... if it says that, and it's not a OD trans... then you have the 200 junker.

A TH350 will bolt right in and require no mods, but they're not lockup.

If you have the OD trans, it's a good one (200R4) and will handle a 350 easiely.

Good luck, I'm doing that exact swap now... except I'm pulling out a turbo motor, so the wireing is different.

I now own a a 82 Regal Sport Coupe with 350 sbb and it has a 350-c trans. It is a dual pattern trans (BPO/C). You could have the that trans, look at pan to tell the type you have.
A couple 6" lengths of wire takes care of wiring. Put a 1/2">1" shorter alt belt to keep it out of hood padding. Look for fan shroud from Olds or Pontiac, I think that is what I use???. The Chevy one will not the clear fan correctly.

    Follow MONZAZ's info for rear.

I believe that my father may have been te first to do this swap in 1989 and there have been many variations but I will give you the rundown on this and make sure that you get a regal worth a poo when done.

    1. 350 SBB will bolt right in place of the V-6, just use new motor mounts (the stockers will rip in half if too old).
    2. All brackets will bolt on, no problems. A few of the alt supports (round stock) will not fit due to the deck height differences between the v-6 and 350.
    3. Trannys are difficult....TH350, TH350C, TH200C, TH200, and TH2004R were all available in 83. It all depends on who optioned the car and what it was for. Look at the pans and you can tell immediately. As far as the lock up, does the tranny have a plug? if so, its a lockup. The universal bellhousings are Reare but some had em.
    4. Radiator, we had one made back in 89 but, to my discovery a 1974 Buick Apollo Radiator fits perfectly. You even use the Apollo hoses for that factory look.
    5. Here is the weird thing. The best fitting fan shroud is the V-6 fanshroud since all of the accessories (fan, alt, ps pump) are in the same locations but sitting further back. Trim a few inches off of the fan shroud with a sawzall and it will all be fine. Best swap ever made. 18mpg, Top Speed of 120+ and 15.3 dead nuts consistant bracket racer. Have a Ball, I did and am still trying to get back there.

When I did my 350 sbb to Regal I needed to use shorter belt on alt as it was up into the insulation (hood pad). I think I used a radiator for Olds or Pontiac?, same went for fan shroud as the Chevy doesn't fit correctly and the V6 is and looks butchered,
