I guess this is the correct forum for this - I have an opportunity to get a '72 Skylark parts car - Honestly there's not much at all worthwhile parts-wise on the car but it does have what I suspect is a good running 350 4BBL (later blue engine - I didn't get any numbers off it). I'm just as happy to get a few trinkets off the car & let the guy scrap it but assuming the engine (& maybe trans but the car isn't driveable) runs well, I'd take the chance get the whole car & get it running and sell the engine/trans (or the whole car less what I want off it) if I knew someone wanted them.

I don't have space for them and don't need another 350 myself although I am curious (@sean Buick 76 ?) if like the 455's whether the later 350 blocks had better cylinder walls.

Would be complete engine - Carb (including '72 4 BBL throttle cable assuming it was originally a 4BBL car) to pan, alternator, starter, PS pump, etc. plus complete trans w/kickdown cable. This is all assuming it runs well once I got it running.

I'd need to get $350 for it to make it worthwhile to drag the car home (even then it'd be a gift) & it'd have to be out of here quickly - This thing could not sit in my driveway for long.

For $450 someone could have the whole car once I take off the few items I'd want but honestly there wouldn't be much left exc. the frame & rear that'd be useable - Maybe the A/C box (there's no compressor/brackets, some wiring, dash bezel, radiator/shroud, glass, etc.). Seriously, the car is a POS. Surprisingly, the wiper arms were beautiful & I'd take them but it's a non-depressed wiper car. Figures, lol.

I hate to see a good 350 get trashed if someone could use it so figured I'd throw this out there.

Pickup near Baltimore or could ship but cannot imagine that'd be cost effective. Not sure I'd have space to bring engine to the Nationals but maybe.

Hi, no the later 350 blocks seem to have less meat than the 68-69 blocks. You should save the engine, you can never have too many spares.

I understand the sentiment but it's a space issue. About 25 years ago I got tired of moving/storing engines & scrapped about 6-8 of them (mostly 350's). I now already have the two orig. for my cars on cradles/dollies plus have at least one spare (maybe 2 depending if I part or sell a Skylark I have).

I understand I’m trying to limit my hoarding a bit too.... I use an enclosed trailer to keep a lot of engines and big stuff out of the way. My wife was impressed I sold two transmissions last week!
