350 deck height

Measured a 72 350 2 barrel block today. Never been decked, still factory stamps on deck surface.
Measured at 10.23.
The generally accepted spec is 10.187
So a difference of .043"

Just FYI

 

My 68 blk is 10.214 average. .002 taper from frt to rear.
My 71 blk is 10.218. Both are uncut deck measurements. Did not check taper.

Steve, what did you find for taper?

 

Pretty much .008 front to rear.
The passenger side was also .010 shorter at .033 less than spec.
