    I just bought a '69 buick with a 350 2bbl. I'm thinking of changing to a 4bbl. I have a stock intake and q-jet to fit. Question 1:
is the cam for a 2bbl the same as the 4bbl cam. Question 2: If the cams are different will I gain any performance with the carb and intake swap?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

An intake and a 4bbl carb will wake that 350 right up! That's a good cheaper upgrade.

the cams i believe are the same..

you will see a HUGE diffrence in performance with a 4bbl. mostly around 40 mph and up.

it puts a new meaning to passing gear if your used to the 2bbl.

I did the swap on my 70 350 skylark. wow..... whole new eyeopener.

Yep, just wait till you snap them 4 bb open n hit passing gear. The extra gas station visits will be well worth it.

    Thanks for the info guys!

    Pete,

I thought I had an old 71 350 intake sitting around, but I can't find it anywhere. Let me know what you want for your intake, how much you think it weights, and your zip code and I'll try to find a shipping price. Also, does the '72 intake have the provisions for an EGR valve?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

    hey again...

i think the intake has the egr valve thingy. ill try and get a pic of it. i know that 72's started getting some smog stuff and 73's really got hit hard. find out on shipping and then ya can make an offer. i imagine its 50 to 60 pounds.

If you are planning to bye a new camshaft, learn from my mistake.
Give TA Performance, Tri Shield Performance or Poston a call. They can tell you what is best suited for your combo. The comp. ratio is different between 2-bbl and 4-bbl stock 350: s and this among other things will make a difference when picking the right hp- cam shaft
