Dave, the stock cast iron 4bbl intake performs very well also. It will probably be hard to find a used aluminum 350 intake for less than a couple hundred $$$.
You will find some good deals on aluminum intakes on ebay once in a great while. Cast iron 4 barrel intakes are nice too, and you can port them along w/ the heads and that's where you will get some serious power. Just look around a little bit and you'll find one you like. :TU:
