i am swapping a 68 350 into my 84 regal that originally had the 3.8. is it NECESSARY that i use the 350 frame pads from the donor car, or can i use the 3.8 ones? the reason i ask is bc im trying to use the 3.8 ones bc i dont know how to hold the nuts that are on the inside of the frame while unbolting the pads. thx

    alec296 i need another buick

    v6 -350 swap

somewhere on the site is a sticky with swap info,
but i used the v6 mounts on the 350 im my car and eventually
got turbo buick poly motormounts as you will see how much
stretch stock ones have. useing the 3.8 pads is the easiest
swap . its a weekend swap minus exhaust system.
most of your pulleys and brackets will work ,might need longer
belts. if running a overdrive trans will have to customize a bracket
for that and do so before you start engine ,as no detent could damage
pump in trans. wouldnt want you to do all that and have trans burn up.
might want a bigger radiator,i used a frt wheel drive bonneville(its alum)
    with electric fans, :TU:
    good luck.

You can get an open end wrench in the slots where the fuel line goes through the frame... ( there's slots on both sides of the frame)...

hoping this is a 350 buick and not a chebby or olds motor... the chevy is a no-go on buick mounts and the oldsmotrouble motor will hit your hood with 3.8 mounts... :beer
