I BOUGHT AN AIRFILTER TODAY AT NAPA FOR MY 340 WILCAT, BUT ALL THEY HAD WAS ONE FOR A 350 WILDCAT. MY QUESTION IS. WOULD THE AIRFILTER FIT IN MY CARB COVER.
Measure the diameter of your existing carb. Check the positions of throttle, shift, and fuel lines and rods. When I upgraded to a new Edelbrock 4-bbl to replace my original 4-bbl, the original air cleaner would not fit. Not even close. Also, the generic replacement air cleaners sit too low onto your fuel line and require a carb spacer and other modifications. Buy an air cleaner that you can return if it doesn't fit. DUHHHH! - re-read your post - only changing the air FILTER? OK - then just try it - it either will fit or it won't.
