Mid-Fifty's Buicks You Can't Beat a Mid-Fifty's Buick:TU: The Combination of Style, Grace, Enginering ,Power and Performance, is INCOMPERABLE. That GREAT Buick Ride. Buicks were well before Their Time, Given the Fact that They had COIL Springs on the Rear Axle. All other Makes had Leaf Springs. Then Again, NOTHING Beats the Sound of a Finely Tuned NAILHEAD. YOU would pay Twice the price for a Tri-Five Chevy andYOU wouldn't be Getting half the car. A Buick will "Walk Away" from just about anything in It's ERA, and will give a Hemi a Run for IT'S Money, and I'm talking "Photo Finishes" here.:beer
I posted our cam listings for the nailheads on our website, and they are available for the early naiheads, on new blanks. http://www.taperformance.com/nailhead_&_v6_cams.htm Dave
Tom, I had a new camshaft ground for my '56 -322 nailhead. The company is called Camcraft http://www.camcraftcams.com/index2.html and located in Easton, MD. It is a mild cam with 210 degrees duration @ 0.050 lift. Total cost was $185 for the new cam. Andreas
Buick Performance Parts Andreas, Thanks for the Valued Information. On another post You asked about Fasteners. I bought a set of Stainless Steel Fasteners on E-Bay for about $31.00 Go to E-bay Moters and under the Search Section Type in Buick Nailhead. You should be able to find them. The Seller lists them quite frequently. :beer :TU:
I was reading these threads and you guys mentioned a Nailhead with six two barrel carbs. I found this book at a flea market last summer, it has a picture of one of those on the front cover. It's probably from the 60's era. The paper is kinda brittle, so I sealed it in plastic after carefully reading it. I have attached a pix, and I hope it came out OK. Enjoy!:beer
Mickey Cool again! I was wondering what it would look like with Roadmaster tail and head light treatment. Judd
Couldn't help myself on the extra porthole, shavin' the emblem/door handle and dropping another tad. Thanks for lettin' me mess with your neat car! Later.....
Mickey I've been saveing the photo chops for ideas. I have messed with it a lot more than you in the last week!
WOW...some folks will do anything for improved air flow. Doin' the 'easy' part first, huh? Keep on diggin' and keep us posted along the way??
Mickey I thought I did the hard part first? Standin on my head in the engine compartment tryin to get the stainless strips off the front fender and laying on my back with my arm fully exstended to get them off the quarter panel!
