o No: Hello, I'm a newby here. I play around with alot of Buicks. Currently I have 7. 37 Roadmaster (The Roadmonster), 48 Super Sedanette, 51 Special De Luxe, 67 Riv, 67 Electra convert, 63 425 Riv and a 61 Electra convert. My question today is what is the solution to a 53 322 big series engine with a trashed carb? Can anyone recomend a conversion to an off the shelf carb or a place to get a solid rebuilt or an NOS Carter 4 barrel? I can't even find out what cfm is correct. I am thinking it's about 400 or so and I am concerned about killing the torque by putting too much cfm into it. all advice is appreciated. Thanx, Dan
1953 carb I dont think a modern "square bore" carb will fit. Iwould start looking on E-Bay motors.com. Maybe some of the big carb rebuilders can help you out. Carburetor's Unlimited comes to mind, (carburetor'sunlimited.com)? or customrebuiltcarbs.com I am assuming you need a 4bbl not a 2bbl.
