Hello all you "big blockheads" (just a joke). I have a sweet 65 skylark w/ a 300 c.i engine and super turbine 2 sp. auto. I have taken this 57k orig mi. engine as far as I can w headers msd ignition 500 cfm 2vcarb etc. etc. This is a factory bucket seat and console car w/ the 2 sp. Besides the 401 nailhead, what other engine can i match up to that 2sp. Thank you for your expertise. Rick LiCastri Delray Beach Fl.
Hi, I don't think you can hook a Nailhead up to the 2sp, different bolt pattern. The 300 is the fore runnner to the 340 and 350, they have the BOP bolt pattern, (Buick, Olds, Pontiac), some Cadillac engines have the same bolt pattern. You can easily put in a Buick 350, it will bolt right up. The 400, 430, 455 share the same bolt pattern but I don't think the st300 will stand up to the torque. Thanks Bruce
