Hey guys I was wondering what it would take to put a 300 in my S-10 I am going to buy the V-8 swap kit But what do I have to do to bolt a small block buick were a small block chevy went. There is a place Called active power incoporated here in ohio that makes 41 willy's bodies that go right down on an S-10. I plan on building a gasser style car out of it. I figure the 300 would make a neat engine to use in the willy's. Plus I am putting a big block in my 67 buick GS340 so I will have a perfectly good running 300 to use.

    thanks Adam

    300 in S-10

    Hi Adam,
    I put a 350 Buick in a S-10, before the 350 I had a 3.8 V6 in it.
I think that the 300 would be easier as the engine is narrower.
What I had to do to make them fit:
Had to make frame mounts, took standard V6 frame and welded to frame.
Had to dent center cross member to clear pan and starter, use smaller one.
Use short water pump and pulleys, old stye (60's).
Use a larger radiater, 4.3 may work, electric fan.
Do not know if right side exhaust will clear frame, I dented frame for
V6 one. Left side maybe in way of steering shaft, it cleared with V6.
Use 700r4 or 9" tail housing on mT350, the 200r4 will require longer shaft.
    This is a start.
