I have a 1964 lesabrew/300 4 barrell motor400 trans. I think ive read that a 350 will bolt in. Is this true and does anyone have a 350 for sale in Indiana. or close-by. Thanks Tim
Tim, I've heard rumors that larger engines would bolt in. In fact on eBay, here is a 1964 LeSabre Convert with a later Buick 455 installed: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6138&item=2433394531 I have no idea how they shoehorned it in. BTW, do you have any updated pictures of your custom LeSabre? Joe
Joe, Ill get some pics posted soon its coming along. I guess I need to get it out the the for sale ads. The car runs great just seems theres not much out there for the little 300.I do a lot of newer motor conversions but buick does not offer much in newer cars today. Is the lesabre on your icon yours?
Tim, Here is a link to the board (300 Upgrades ) that talks about putting a 340 or a 455 in a Skylark. While it doesn't directly apply to our cars, the wiring harness to the engine etc has got to be the same for the 300, so it is a decent read. The picture in my avatar is indeed my LeSabre. I also have a web page about it at Joe's Buick. The page is geared toward non-car enthusiasts, so it is a quick read for a Buick nut.
Joe, I just posted some pics of the lesabre in the members rides with alittle help from Adam anyway I put some more up asap. Tim
