Thanks Sean! Thanks Matt! You've already done so much that I hate to ask: Do you have any 340 main web shots? I would think 340 main webs are the same as 350 ones but you never know. I'm really surprised the 300 webs are as beefy as they are. I did not expect that. With the 300 being the same as a 225 V6 in every way (bore, stroke, con rod length, main bearing diameter, deck height, etc.), it really does seem true that the 300 really is a 225 with two more cylinders. (We of course do remember that they all come from the original 215 V8.) But those 300 main webs definitely are beefier than the 225 main webs are. Now I'm curious as to what the 340 and 350 main webs look like. Thanks again for posting these! Regards, Eric
I appreciate the link but I didn't see any main webbing pictures there. Only two photos that show the bottom end but you can't see the main webbing in them. They are actually photos of his main cap girdle. Check out my idea for improving on the Hot Rod 300/349 build over on that thread. What do you think? You can use it in your book as long as you give me credit for it. Regards, Eric
I know, i have to e-mail Jim to get some pics for you.. I just thought you may be interested in his 340 build. Interesting ideas about the 300 build, many ways to go which is half of the fun!
