Well guys i have some bad newsthe passenger side header fits great but the driver sides primary tubes hit the frame if they curved in a little more it would probaly go sorry it took so long to get back to you guys i had finals all last week no time to work. My manifolds are stock of a 95 range rover they are for sure stainless my dad says its probally 304 he works at B&W with boilers so he knows his stuff the did look excellent somebody polished mine before i got them its to bad because i had to cut up the driver side manifold to get it off so i am kinda S.O.L. I guess i will wait to june to by a set of postons reissues. Anybody know how they fit. Weather or not you hae to move anything, or cut anything to get them in my car is a columb shifted automatic. All in all i imagine that with some finagaling you cold get these headers to fit but ithinck i will send mine bak to they guy i boughtthem from. One more tip i learned your local hardware store and find the bolt section and get stainless bolts for the the bolts that go into the head for your headers I got mine at ace hardware it cost melike $10.00 for boltsand lockwarshers no more stuburn manfold bolts for me. I used them in my jeep about 4 months ago and since hen them have been exposed to alt many times(Ohio weather). and look like they day i bought them

    Thanks adam

    re-headers

they were going into a 67 GS340 if you have a 65 a believe these frames are the same and you would have the same problem. Like i said the passenger side fit perfect but the driver side headers primary tubes hit the frame. With the bolt holes lined up there was like a half inch gap at the top between the header flange and the head. It was worth a shot it would have been sweet if the did work no worries about coating or anything like that. The passeger side looked real trick with it on there

    Hey Adam,
When you say the frame, what spot on the frame? The A arms? I'm trying to get a general idea of what the obstruction is. Wish you could post some pics. Also, since the 340 block is taller than the 300, do you think they'd fit the 340 with any trouble?

    re headers

the 340 is gone i have a 300 in there now the best way i can explan it to you is it hits about the area were the brake porpotioning block is which is toward the fire wall probally 2 to 4 inches from the a-arm. I think actually that the taller deck might help out a little. I wish i could post some pics but i already too the stuff off

This is off the topic but what color is your GS340 and does anyone still produce the stock colors. Oh about the headers I am going with the Poston on my 340. I heard there was some problems with people installing those headers, that have standard trans. I have TH350 , so it should be no problem. I can't decide to run 2 1/2 or 3 inch all the way out the back.:Brow:

    re headers

i heard the same thing with the headers about the manuel tranny problem When i bought my car some one must have wanted a GS400 because it was a metallic medium blue color which i have seen on 67 buicks before. When i bought it didn't know the 340 even existed. Matter of fact i didn,t that much about buicks this was my first car period. Somebody Also took out the GS340interior and added the GS400 interior. It also had a 300 in it instead of a 340. AFter some research of the tag I found out that the original color was platinum mist which to my knowledge is a 67 GS340 color only I keep the interior as it was in good shape and put new carpet in it and redied everything. I got my car painted a maco the ony problem was that for the price i was paying they only will do th outside of the car no door jambs or under the trunck. We did ths but when we went to get the paint the couldn't find the paint code they did find however a ford color with the same name. We used this color and painted the door jamb and trunk with it but when it came back from maco we realized that th ford color isn't the same it has more gold in it. From what i can tell from picture of other GS340's maco got t right. I was extremly happy with the quality of the paint job i got there. About two years ago it got in an accident that destroyed the whole driver side of the car and the hood. So know after the two year resteration its almost ready to paint again i have decided that i am going to use the color of my moms 2001 jeep. it is a silver that is so close to Platinum mist it not even funny. I am going to use this because it will be easy to match the paint if i have to later. I will try to find the paint code if you are interested. IF your car is a GS340 the only to colors they were available were a white and this silver the white so be easy to find.

    re headers

About the exhaust i would have to say that the 2.5 inch exhaust will do fine. I am going to use flowmasters set up with mine when i get my headers. I thinck the 3inch is somtimes hard to install because of its size. Also I thinck a 3inch exhaust sounds diffrent more of a hollow sound but with your combo i probally would go with 2.5inch

How bad was the driver side frame interference with the rover stainless steel headers? I am just curious if it is such that they could be modified slightly to miss the frame, or if it is a major interference such that it isn't worth messing with.

    re-headers

well with the headers in place there is between a .5 to .75 inch gap at the top of the flange that bolts to the head. I just called the guy tht i bought them from first he said that if they didn't fit i could return them if i just paid shipping. Well i talked to himthe other day and he said he could give me a store credit but all he sells is land rover stuff so its pretty worthless to me. So now i am going to try to make them work i am going to get thniking and working on it. I let you all know the progress because if they would work they would be the best setup

    Hey Adam,
Is it possible you could loosen the motor mount on that side and jack up the engine a bit to get it to slide into place? I've done that before. Take the other side off first though. Also, if the guy will only take credit, why not see if he's got a set of Range rover cast aluminum valve covers in stock. They paint up real nice and look better than the 300 ones.

    re headers

There is still a clearence problem even if you did this. It would only allow you to get them on then once you get them on and put the engine back down it would set on the frame and i don.t think you could hook the motor mount back up and even if you could get it bolted back up the header wold rattle like crazy. The valve cover thing is a cool idea but i thoght they have landrover on them i think i am going to keep the stock ones for now and paint the engine buick red and put the 340-4 stickers on the valve covers. I think this would look cool because it is a GS 340 car Most guys don't even now that these motors exist let alone know how to tell them apart. I wish i wouldhave hought of this earlier though because i already cleaned it and painted it the original aqua color with the 300-2 stickers an the valve covers ah well (Oh and i have a 4 barrel setup so the sticker will make sense)

Adam, I might be interested in your headers - I'm building a Rover 4.0 block with 300 heads for my '74 Range Rover and your manifolds should be bigger bore than mine. If you could measure the bore diameters or send me a pic it would help.
