so, what do you think - makes it sence to use headers?

and what does they cost ? :Do No:

    thanks a lot ! ! :TU:

    Mine were about $200

I got them from Poston enterprises, but I think they have been discontinued. You could call down there and ask.

I would reccomend getting them coated with jet hot or something similar.

Is is worth it? I don't know. It is hard to get them to seal well, and very hard to install them.

    be carefull

ive seen posts where guys buy them & they dont fit, even though poston claims they will.or you have to beat dents in them for clearance which defeats the freeflow effect.the stock 300/340 manifold is pretty close to a header design to begin with.the shipping on these will kill you, especially if you cant get them to fit.i think youd be better off getting mandrel bent exhaust w/quality mufflers & an x-pipe, & a good ignition system.think it through before you spend the $$$$.unless your rich....dad,that you??? :spank:

    Thanks A Lot ! !

    ok,that was clear....my first us-car was an 79 oldsmobile 98 403.

i bought headers in the states and was lucky when they arrived. :)
but they don`t fit, so i had to grind, weld and bend on them....i thought they were cheap and so perhaps it is normal... :Dou:
thanks o lot you spare me much work.

    in my skylark is a 65 300cui mounted,now i am just buying the 300 - 4 barrel.

    hope to feel different

which muffler to take, for an deep and loud sound?

    which diameter for the pipes - is 2 1/2 " ok ?

can i drive with 98 octan, i have harderned valveseats? :TU:

    regards

up to about 4000 rpm probably no big difference with headers . 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 plenty on exhaust size . 98 octane fine . if ya don't get headers then you can spend money on a good carb , good dual exhaust , gears , trans mods , paint , etc . or whatever . del

You could get the cast iron ones "Extrude Honed"
That would be slick, but I do not know how much power there is to be gained that way.

remember i am a black forest german - :beer
how to lock the rear axle? :3gears:
    not 100 % - is there a way ?
i read about a kit which is installed in 2 hours or somethig into the 10 bolt.
is that right - if yes what does it cost?

    300 Headers

Poston still makes headers for the 300, part#PE709773 $329.00. You will gain H.P. and torque thru the entire RPM range. On a 67 GS you need to dent #6 a little,it wont make enough flow difference to matter. :Smarty:

    300 Headers

The stock Exaust Manifolds flow very well. I opened mine up and ground as much metal as I could. Port matched them to the Heads and opened up the end. I removed the heat riser and ground a 45* angle in the exit so I could use an exaust donut. It was just something else getting in the way of the flow. It makes a lot of difference considering the cost and hassle of installing Headers, Especially if You have to dent them up to get them in. There goes your flow. Try it. You'll be suprised at the difference. You'll like the price even better. I used a 6" rotary file for the deep area and a shorter one for the metal to make the curve straighter. Good Luck. :TU:

no new carrier,i dont think.some do need carrier if you change gear ratios off the scale.you need to research what else is available.there are other brands, eaton, auburn.use the search at the top of the page and start reading.here is one for powertrax http://www.v8buick.com/search.php?searchid=543935 there are also other posi gm rears to fit your car.what kind of u.s. cars you got in junkyards over there? :beer

american cars at the junk yard

i don`t think that i know one junkyard arrond the way, where you can buy parts from classic american cars.the soldiers are gone(airport sllingen).
you can buy junkyards cars which are called "restaurationobject" about horrible prices in "good condition"

i bought a 1962 electra and remount it, in shortest time everything was sold.

    ...hard to find parts!! :af:

so i bought my 300 4-barrel from indiana now - hope he arrives well. :(

hey i want to by the 2 1/2 " flowmaster exhaust system from partsseller does it fit my original headers??

if yes - perfect !! :TU:

    can anybody tell me ?
