Greetings all, I have a well worn 300 2v engine, looks have been run with coolant leak most likely from the front cover taking out the main bearings leaving rod journals looking o.k. Crankshaft was ground .010 under and needs to be re-ground again. Worth the time to save the crankshaft or scrap with the block and heads ?

    Thanks, Ron

Save it! Guys who stroke the 215 with a 300 crank are always in need of them. Also to fit a 300 crank in a 215 you have to turn the mains down smaller, the bad mains would not not matter. Please save it or sell it here on the board, just don't scrap it.
    Thanks

I would save it as well. I am looking for a 300 CS for a cool high winding Buick 300. It seems that these cranks are not as easy to come across as they used to be. It is not like many people are looking for them, but still it is a 300 ci buick crank.

Thanks for the input, I will save it, the brackets and tin. I have Three 300 engines total, two are standard bore. Two had water in the crankcase the other has .030 over pistons with .020 ridge in the cylinders with a frozen intake valve, broken push rod and looked to have been driven like this based on the amount sludge covering the fragments. However it ran smooth on 7 cylinders. Was hoping to make one good runner one out of the three. Any interest in the blocks or heads? I hate to scrap it but it has to go this week.

I also have a couple of 300 cranks which I should get rid of. About how much do they generally bring?

I would love a 300 crankshaft if someone is gonna sell one. Please let me know if you guys are gonna post one.

I'll be selling the two that I have once I get some boxes to ship them in. One is standard size but was rusty and had to be bead blasted. It should clean up at .010, and the other is oily and undersized, not sure exactly how much. I'll try to get them ready this week.
