hello, i decided to swap the 2bbl to a 4bbl on my stock 66 300. i read there is no benefit but i don't care. the question is the 2bbl intake has a hard steel tube piped into the rear of the intake and the 4bbl doesn't have the fitting. what is this line for and do i drill and tap the 4bbl to install the line. thank you for any help, john, sorry but the pics wouldn't upload

well if no pics are working ( keep trying , that will be a big help ) - you are using a cast iron 65 4bbl intake correct ?
and what carb are you using exactly ? carter ( OEM or aftermarket ) , 4GC Rochester , edelbrock or ?

Sounds like the heater hose fitting. You can run it into the front of the intake.

i don't think it is a heater line, it's only about 1/8 od. possibly from the tranny but i didn't crawl under it yet. i think i got the pics to work. maybe it's possible to use the threads that are already on the intake closer to the pass side. the intake is a cast iron B1366695 and the carb is a carter 4055S which i believe is the correct one. thanks for your replies and help, john

Yes, that is vacuum modulator for the transmission. Any manifold vacuum inlet will work.

There are 2 plugs in the 4 barrel manifold, one on the right and one on the left you can remove to put a barbed 1/8 fitting in to hook it up.
