    Hi everybody,
On the BG countdown, had the carb rebuit while I put a new timing chain on. Now it won't idle, timing is close but I can't get it slow enough to take the mech advance out. Probably about 1000 - 1500 RPM at least.
Carb rebuilder is good, used them before so that shouldn't be an issue, thottle screw is backed out so it's not even touching the linkage, choke (elec) is opening as it should.
It's late and I'm beat so I'll try with a clear head tomorrow. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Also, while I'm at it, some previous mechanic rigged up a really bad return spring, anybody got a photo of what it's supposed to look like or can tell me where it's supposed to go.

    Thanks,
    Frank

Am I reading this wrong, or is it idling at 1000-1500 RPM? It sounds like the linkage is hanging up somewhere, or the fast idle cam is stuck...

Try returning to idle speed by pushing the linkage by hand.

Thanks for the replies, THANKS Bruce, the photos helped a lot.

So anyhow .... if you ever convert to a electric choke ..... and a friend is helping you ..... and he is supposed to cap off the pipe going to the choke housing to eliminate a vacuum leak .... MAKE SURE HE DOES .....

That was it, vacuum leak, everything seems fine. We'll see, leaving for Bowling Green at 5:30 am

    Thanks again,

    Frank
