300 4 barrel Carb

I need a four barrel (Carter??) for a 300 engine. What are these things going for as rebuilts or whatever.

Is the small Edelbrock 500cfm a good replacement for an otherwise stock automatic car?

This is a winter time project so I'm looking at present.

I have the 600 cfm Edelbrock with an electric choke (1406)... works very nice on my stock 300 motor.

What trans do you have hooked up to that 300. Does it have the switch pitch and is it hooked up to the carb?

 

I have a TH350.

 

stock size Carter AFB for the 300 is a 500cfm carb...The Edelbrock will work fine...
