Does anyone have or know of an aftermarket 3 point seat belt system for convertibles? I'm not concerned with originality as much as functionality. A newer safer model would be more to my liking. Any info. is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Paul

I don't know of any 3 point systems from the aftermarket that would work. Here's a couple of things to consider:
    1) When the top mount is connected behind the doors it's hard to properly reinforce this area to withstand the forces of an impact.
    2) If you do anchor it properly the belt will flap in the wind at highway speeds and wear your neck raw.
    3) When the belt is fully retracted it will be significantly behind your seat making it difficult to reach and use.

I think the best solution is to look into some of the seats manufacturers are making that have the 3 points built in. The Chrysler Sebring was one of the first but there are others. Obviously this will never appear stock, and that may be a deal breaker for you.

3 point systems can save lives, but good luck in designing a liveable workable system.
