Jim how wide is that one compared to the 70 A body? I noticed the spring perches are on top like the G body. I was building that 72 8.5 for the Regal and was going to weld the spring perches on the tubes or go coil over. I need it just a little wider than the G body to run 4.5 BS wheels. I guess the axles are c-clip and 28 spline. What would be the distance between coil spring pad centers? Looks like the upper arm mounts are wider and the shocks mount in front. Probably won't work.
The rear is 62" overall drum to drum It is 1" wider overall than the A-body 68-72 rears. We use the 73-77 (these rear centers ) and mate the 7.5 Stock G-body tubes to the 73-77 centers and make 78-87 G-body custom HD rears from them. This rear is BOLT IN AXLE REAR NOT C_CLIP. It is a B.O.P. rear NOT Chevy c-clip rear. You would need to take the lower control arm brackets and remove from your G-body rear and put them on the 73-77... Then you would be good. WE sell the upper control arms to convert your g-body connection 145.00 a pair Nice double adjustable arms with sperical rod end to keep the cars suspension working properly. We have done all the work already to fit this center rear in. Call 330 990 8155 for more info. Jim I MAKE 8.8 AND 12 BOLT CHEVY G-BODY REARS ALSO... J D Race 330 990 8155
and if you put a 12 bolt in a 73-77, you need to swap lower mount brackets and use upper control arms from a 66
