I'm looking to change the gears in the Skylark to match the gears in the GN to put behind my Turbo 6 conversion.

How hard is it going to be to find the right gears? If it's even possible.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Eric

I do not believe...at least I have NEVER run across any 8.2 buick-ponitac olds 3.42 ratio. We do have 3.36 or 3.55 NEW which will be darn close.

If you want to install a 10 bolt 8.5 71 72 rear you can get the exact 3.42 ratio you need. You will need offset back spacing from 4.5 -5 " though so the tires will fit correctly under the car again.

Another thought is the tire size. Find out what the diameter of the STOCK GN is 24 25 26 27" and then see if yours are exactly the same or most likely smaller so that would also IF your tire is smaller make your ratio in the 8.2 needing to be less steep becuase the 3.36 will act like a 3.42 ratio with a smaller tire diameter... vise versa with a larger tire compared to a GN diameter tire. Stock tire on the GN's was a 215/65R-15 if I remember correctly. That would be 26" tall
