3.36 ring and pinion for an 8.2 10 bolt

This is an 8.2 ring and pinion I bought for my Pontiac 2+2 but never put it in. I'm not a differential expert so I'm going by what the guy who sold it to me said. I count 25 splines. Feel free to ask me to do any measuring or picture taking to verify it's identity.

That GM gear is marked right on the pinion 37-11. That's also what I count looking at the pictures.

Do the math and you get 3.36. So that much we know.

you stated the pinion has 25 splines, that would make it a Chevrolet gear set. Buick Olds and Pontiac 8.2 pinions have 27 splines.. hope this helps.

 

Definitely does, but unfortunately it means it's no good to most people here on V8. In Canada, Pontiac's have Chevy powertrains.
