I'm running this gear at 2500 give or take 50 rpms at 55 mph with a 455 350 turbo and brand new 295 50 15 rubber. Does that sound a little high? Would I be getting a little convertor slippage you think? it is a tci sat night special with a 2000 rpm stall.

    I have a 4spd hooked to an OLDS 323 ANTI-SPIN,with 255x60x15 tires= (27" tall)
I am doing less then 2700@ 70mph and at 50 I'm doing less then 2000rpm.

How accurate is your speedo? Tach? Pete

Something's whacked, I calculate your slippage is over 20%. Are you running the right speedo drive/driven gears to get a good reading?

nah not paying no mind to speedo cause I knew it would be off when gear changed from 2.56 to 3.23. Had a friend drive his newer chevy truck in front of me at 55mph while I figured out rpms I was doing. Just sounds a little high going down the road. Just wondering if convertor could slip that much? Tach is new and seems to be accurate at idle don't know if it changes at upper rpms though? Has anyone ever hooked up two tachs to check one? sound feasable.

You should be going 61.3 mph and I calculate your converter slippage at 55mph as 10.27%

well I haven't changed speedo gear yet cause I wasn't worried about it. But it shows 72mph.
