I can't see any visual differences between the 64 and 65 dual quad intakes except for the part number and date code castings. uzzled: Am I missing something or can anyone else see something different here? o No:
The 66 2x4 intake is different. 64-65 intakes casting number ends in 106 66 intake ends in 116 Here's a pic of a '66 intake, note the extra bosses on cylinders 4 and 8.
The differences are the bosses for the kickdown brackets are different, the coil mounting bracket holes are different. You "MAY" experience difficulties getting the kickdown set up to work on an opposite year intake. Larry
B1370316B is the # of the intake on the left (from one of my '65 motors) and B1357106L is the # of the intake on the right (from a '64 2x4 set-up that we've put together for Carmen the Electra) but every hole and boss look to me like they're in the exact same locations, even the ones at cylinders 4 & 8 as shown on the '66 piece. Could the difference be something internal like maybe different port sizes or volumes? uzzled: I mean why would the part number need to be changed from one year to the next when there was no visual revisions done at all. :idea2:
I thought 65 & 66 were the same manifold? Still don't see any differences. Maybe circle them to point them out for us less attentive to detail. Please:TU:
part numbers can change just because the factory ''superceded'' them.... look for differences in the vacume taps, venturi hole sizes, bolt locations, ect..... the little stuff that can aggrivate the living crap out of you.....
I had both next to each other years ago and there was a visual difference. The 65/66 are the same with the 316 part number vs the 106 for the 64 only. Yes, it is the small differences in the bosses that will make you crazy. I had a 65/66 on my 64 and could not get the kickdown to work right because of the difference in the switch types 64 vs 65/66. Look at the back of the intakes and you can see the coil mounting bracket holes are a little different because the coil sits a little differently to clear the kickdown on a 65/66. Larry
