2x4 eelco flow numbers

    just got the intake back from greg gessler here are the flow numbers.


    stock flow at 28''

    232 266 254 232 251 237 219 274

    after balancing flow at 28''

    264 264 264 262 257 262 272 274


    my heads are flowing 232 cfm, the intake should not hurt flow. what do you guys think ? thanks Joe :3gears:

    Thanks for posting!
    Average works out to almost 265 cfm.
    Greg's results on a stock Q-jet 1x4 intake were 230 stock, and 256 ported.

    Thanks Joe, My guess is you will feel it on the top end for sure. Mabey some others might post some # and we can compare intakes.

    Your ported numbers are similar to a SP1 or KB Wildcat for a 455 out of the box. The unported numbers look like B4B or performer for the 455. It looks like your manifold is no longer the restriction in the equation. You may loose some low end power with that kind of flow, but it should help up top.

    How does the Eelco intake compare to the Edelbrock B262 it is patterned after?

    How does it compare to the stock 2 X 4 intake?

    Gessler's numbers from a '64 factory iron 2x4 manifold.

    there was a dyno test on the eelco vs B262 a while back on one of the threads 2x4 intake flow by Erik ahhh65 riv, great reading. the eelco won by a few hp and torque. 3.6 torque 2.7 hp

    talked with G. Gessler on that, he said he flowed that intake a different way or different flow bench not sure. he said the eelco has a lot bigger runners then the stock 2x4 and flows more if flowed the same way.
