It has a 300 2bbl, rear lower body quarters are a little rough but nothing a sheet metal mechanic can't handle. Interior is in good shape. I have choices with the engine, got a 4bbl intake for the 300 or put in the 340 4bbl I have. Staying with the small block works for me. Plan on rolling it out next spring looking clean and strong.
Bonus prize was in the glove box, the original MSRP window sticker. Listed at $2995.95 from a dealership in Fall River Mass. Pretty cool.
Not a lot of options, but if you look at the window sticker the 8 cylinder, automatic trans, am radio, power steering, and white walls were and additional charge.
if it is a Special DELUXE shouldn't it have stainless wheel trim front and rear? No expert, just wondering.
This is the second Deluxe i have acquired and both didn't have any evidence of wheel opening trim. Most of what I have seen or read the GS was the one that came with factory trim. Not a 100% sure.
hmm... hmm.... mine has the full trim and I figured it would be one the things that tells Specials and Special Deluxe apart. Oh well... What about the trunk trim? I have the GS broad one but without holes. I like the color. Same as mine? Mind sharing more pictures with poverty caps on? I am considering pov caps myself.
The wide trunk trim, hood spear, and wide stainless side strip set the Deluxe off from the Special exterior
i'd be curious if the V.I.N is for a V6 and the cowl tag is for V8, this seems to be pretty common in the 67 special and special deluxe cars I have owned. supposedly it was a trick to get a lesser price on a V8 equipped car.
