You have the corporate 8.5" rear with 28 spline axles. GM used the same center section from 71-87...so you have plenty of parts to choose from to build your rear axle. You have a 2.56 gear in it.....if you want better performance, go with a 3.08 gear set and posi unit.
Remember the axle spline are also different then the 8.2 BOP axles 45 degree spline instead of the 60 degree spline . 60 degree spline will be slightly loose and rock in the side gear. 45 degree is a standard chevy 28 spline axle. Jim
