255X60 tires on 15X6 Rivi wheels?

Anyone have experience running P255X60R15 tires on stock 15X6 Riviera rally rims ("road wheels")?

I'm just wondering if the tires might be too wide. Thinking about putting some on my '71 Rivi.

What's the biggest tire you've mounted or seen on these wheels?

    Thanks for any help/feedback.

I think that's too much width for that rim. A 7"-9" is recommended.

The size that looks & works best for my 15x6 rims is P225/70R15.

If you're patient you might be able to find some later wheels in 15x7 off a wagon. That's what I did and it opened up the window for some wider rubber while still retaining the stock look.

I've run that on the Centurion, and they looked well stretched. The tires were too low too (smaller diameter than stock), so it goofed up the gearing a bit.

  5. Might want to check with YARDLEY and see what he runs on his '69 Riviera. with 15x6's I run 235-70's on both Rivs and the LeSabre with no problem.

This is what Yardley is running.
