For sale is my 24 Pace Shadow GT car trailer. This trailer was custom ordered by me to transport my cars to shows or races. It has been meticulously maintained and in excellent condition. Options on trailer are as follows:
    Heavy duty 5200 lb axles
    Aluminum wheels
New 15 E rated trailer tires
    New American wheel bearings
    New 7000 lb Brakes
    New LED lights
    Recessed spare tire hold
    Installed and lined interior
Stainless steel work top and cabinets
    12 volt and 120 lighting
    Wired for A/C
Custom E-track in floor so a strap never touches the car
    Tool box
    Electric tongue jack
    .50 inch thick exterior walls
Once again, this is a great trailer in excellent condition and being offered at $7995.00. Located in south Florida. Please call 786-269-5474

    Thanks Briz.

Not really interested in a boat. Already have friends with boats. That's almost better. HA.

    Jim,

The trailer was listed on Ebay, craigslist and here on the board. The person that bought the trailer in not a board member. He lives just two blocks from me and wants the trailer to race his 3 series BMW.

I am not sure how this is bull****

Then read the board rules and you will know.

    Jim,

I have read the board rules regarding posting of adds.

    They are as follows:

Our policy dictates that if you list a part or car for sale, you will in good faith adhere to the following:

Post a price for the item being offered. COMPLIED
Post a location of the item. COMPLIED
Work with the interested parties to complete the sale, in the order that they showed interest in your item. This interest must be shown with a public reply to your thread, Personal Messages (PM's) or emails are not acceptable communication requirements for "getting in line" to purchase an item. We suggest 48 hours as an acceptable time period to allow interested parties to contact you privately. COMPLIED. YOU POSTED THAT YOU WERE INTERESTED AND THAT YOU WOULD CALL.
If the first user who responds to your ad does not complete the sale, you move onto the second person who responded, and so on and so forth down the list, until the item is sold. This list is dictated soley by the public replies to your ad. COMPLIED. YOU WERE THE ONLY BOARD MEMBER THAT CONTACTED ME VIA THE BOARD POSTING. I FOLLOWED THE BOARD RULES TO THE LETTER. (THIS LIST IS DICTATED SOLEY BY THE PUBLIC REPLIES TO YOUR AD) I COMPLIED AND I WAITED FOR YOUR CALL.
You will not accept other offers or negotiate outside of these guidelines. aS NOTED ABOVE I FOLLOWED THE RULES AS THEY APPLY TO THE POSTING AND THE MEMBERS ON THIS BOARD.
You will not refuse to sell the item to anyone, for any reason, unless a moderator or the board administrator is involved and Ok's the denial.

Jim. I regret you did not call me sooner and perhaps we could have come to an agreement. However, i do not believe that if i advertise something for sale in other venues that i have to wait to exhaust all interested parties from members on this board before i sell it.

I posted at 9:36 pm last night that I would call you tomorrow. You posted at 7:45 am today that the trailer was sold "last night". So when you say you waited for my call, and I should have called you sooner, well that is bull****. You broke the board rules because you negotiated with someone who did not respond to your ad.

You are correct Juan, its your trailer and you can do whatever you want with it. But you chose to list it here which means you must follow the rules of this board, which plainly you did not. So I gave you bad seller feedback which you deserve. You should stop buying and selling here until you can learn to abide by the rules that govern this board Juan.

Jim-- if he had a local buyer who picked it up first, this has happened several times before with others. By listing it here, he is not saying it is an exclusive listing. It is just one of those things that occurs from time to time. I could see this happening with you or me being the listing person.

If this is the case, I think some new clarification to the rules is in order, because I'd be upset if caught in this situation as a buyer, too. More often than not, a seller will state something along the lines of "for sale locally as well" or some such wording, making the situation very clear.

Reading the words "You will not accept other offers or negotiate outside of these guidelines", it's pretty easy to default to the broad sense of the statement which is "you will not accept ANY other offers", which is why sellers often go out of their way to add the "local sale" comment to avoid this kind of confusion.

A simple change to the wording of the rules could prevent more of the same misunderstandings/interpretations.

I do not disagree with you in the sense that clarification to the extent possible is always best. Bu,t I think it has been historically construed, and intented to mean, that someone else from this Board cannot jump ahead of you after you have raised your hand. I have looked into to several misunderstandings in which the very same thing has happened.

Let's be logical and reasonable. It you had a trailer listed here and elsewhere and a neighbor comes by with the money are you supposed to say, "No I have to first wait to see if I can sell it through V8Buick". If that is the case, I would be hesitant to also list it on this Board because members here would always be deemed to have the right of first refusal. Detering people from listing here is not the preferred outcome either.

I allways assume that cars and trailers and engines and things that are BIG are listed elsewhere.. Not sure why you wouldn't..

People kick tires alot.. My turbo skylark was sold to the guy that deposited money in my bank account.. I could have F'd around for months with people that want to ask questions.. Oh well. The buyer was not at the time even a member.. And never posted in my FS thread.. Cash in hand in person beats board rules..

Board rules only apply when selling to someone that has replied to your FS item on the board and you sell to a member. Otherwise, just like ebay, the item is no longer for sale.. For whatever reason..

The words "construed", "intended" and "guidelines" are perhaps the root cause of the confusion. Of course deterring anyone from posting things for sale here is not what anyone wants. The simple solution is to write the rules (note I did not say "guidelines", which infers "suggestions") in such a way that buyers and sellers have no question that items are available for sale outside of the replies in the V8Buick for sale thread. Make it clear that the constraints belong among board members.

No big deal, just make it clear, that's all. As written, right now the "guidelines" are written in such a way that they default to the broad sense, thus the problem. Sounds like an easy fix to me to avoid a little more grief.

I am with Mr Rodgers on this. There are benefits to the seller and buyer by following the board rules and I also firmly believe that we have responsibility's as a board member to make sure that there are no pending deals or interest posted on your v8buick add other wise this type of deals is a way for back door deals to happen.

I don't understand why this is so hard for are members to deal with? It doesn't matter if its ebay or v8buick does it? If you list it on ebay you have to see it to the end of the auction before listing it on v8buick don't you? That is why we have a ebay cars and parts section right? I have seen people post on there v8buick adds that they are posting it on ebay because they had no interest here and here is the ebay link XXXXXXXXXXX Right? But they are making sure everyone knows by posting this on there add.

You can not post on this board with out being a member for several reasons and this is just one more to add to the long list. How hard is it to post that it is for sale in other websites and list them off so others know, but really why should you not have to check your v8buick add as a member and do your best to make sure that any deals/interest that are posted on your add are delt with? This is what gives both the seller and the buyer some protection against back door auction like deals from happening along with maintaining integrity here on V8buick.

Does it matter if you are a member of life or V8buick? I think not, dealing in good faith should not be optional here on V8buick or elsewhere for that matter.

I post things on a local race web site or ebay or V8buick not all 3, as to give board members 1st crack.

Juan, I think you could have avoided this if you had a quick look here first then you would have either seen Jim's post of interest or if it was before Jim's post of interest and you had no unfinished business with anyone else that posted here you could make a quick post saying "local deal in progress" No one wants to see you lose a sale on your trailer but a effort on your part to maintain the integrity of the V8buick classified sections should fall on your shoulders as a V8buick "Member" If the rules have changed and this is the way we are running things now let me know I can go straight to ebay with my stuff where its all about the money and nothing else.
