I'm getting some 15x6 full size rallys for my '95 Roadmaster wagon daily driver and I'm wondering if anybody ever tried some 235 70 15's on the 6" wheels. I'm not sure if they would buldge too much. If they would I'd just go with the factory 225 75 15's but I'd rather upgrade slightly. I'd love to go with the rare 15x7's but they are tough to find. Any pictures would be nice. Thanks.
I do not have any pics however I do have 235/70/15 tires on my 88 Caddy Brougham with 15x6 wheels. Yes they do bulge a little bit however not much at all, they look good... They do not look bulgy like the 295/50/15 on a 15x7, those were way too wide for the rims.
Well, I ended up going with the 225 75 15s that are standard on the wagon and I'm having them mounted on the rally wheels. I figured since I'm using it every day including winter weather the slightly narrower stock size will be better in the snow. The number of people making that size is getting pretty limited compared to what it once was. I ended up getting some Kumho Solus KR21's. If I would have kept the 15 x7 factory aluminum wheels I would have gone for the 235 70 15's but compared to the chrome Buick wheel it is not in the same league. Thanks for the help.
Looks good, probably should have gone the bigger route. Oh well, I'll see how mine work out this winter.
