I once again was asked to get a v8 class together for the turbobuick.com event at piedmont dragway in north carolina. The event is may 3 to may 6. There is racing on Friday and Saturday. We will Have a v8 race bracket class both days. Last years event was a great time. Plus Richard Clarks garage is an awesome sight to see as he opens his whole facility for the few days prior for everyone to attend. This year is also a free catered dinner with live music on Friday night after racing. I have gotten some sponsors already for this v8 class only. If anyone else is interested in sponsoring please contact me. All proceeds and gifts go directly to the v8 class only.
Not sure if the link worked to the full list of the details for this event. If not maybe someone can link it over for me.
A big thank you to all the sponsors so far that have contacted me. Thanks to Harold Rolls, Anthony Rose, The east coast regional buick event, John Csordas jr, and Ultimate Converter Concepts. Please thank and support all sponsors and contributors to all races out there. Will keep updating list as I get more.
A big thank you to finishline motorsports for helping out the racers and sponsoring the v8 class at the turbobuick.com nationals.
We suggest you bring this event to the top each day. Since posting I can bring some parts, I am getting emails trying to ID the event. There are many who are not aware it exists. Could you post a link to the event that is not hooked to Facebook. Many of us are not members of Facebook. Edit : I have located one: http://www.turbobuick.com/threads/2017-turbobuick-com-nc-buick-nationals-may-3rd-thru-6th.440177/
How many V8 cars did you get for the class last year John? I know it rained but I was wondering how big of a group you got to come.
Dave and Dan Chait, Bruno and Bruno Jr., Chilenski , Rick Martinez' John Jr and a plenty of V8 heavy hitters will be there Big Guy. If you win the V8 class I think you'll get a King of the Hill shot at a Turbo Car. Beware BIG GUY..........the fastest Turbo Cars on the planet will be in the house and would love a shot at the old 65 GS. I'll be at the 60 foot mark taken pictures as usual. This is 1/8th mile racing so if you ain't on your game at the tree and get out 60 footed, there's no room to catch the other guy. A hangover won't help you out !
Last year we had 16 v8 cars. I know a few didn't show because the weather. I would say this year just going by what I have had replies for I am really hoping for 32. I think it will be very close either way. Hopefully some Maryland boys take the deive down also. It is hard to say because not everyone posts if they are coming or not.
I'll be there. Probably will be with an untested car. This event is most likely the first race in over a year. If things go south at least it will be among friends and fellow Buick guys.
