This year, the Auto Show was one weekend only, which meant that you didn't have more than a week to get there and check things out. This meant that EVERYBODY went at the same time. Despite how uncrowded it looks in some of the pictures, it was very busy.

The 2011 auto show reminded me alot of the 1987 Auto Show. There really wasn't much to look forward to besides the Stingray Concept. In 1986, there was the Grand National and a few other interesting cars coming out. But other than that, it was just blah. Everybody was switching to front wheel drive cars then, and now everybody is producing hybrid electric cars. I got bored after 20mins.

The Lotus cars had a plastic chain around the perimeter of their area. The chain was less than knee high, and people were stepping over the chain to check the cars out, and walk around them. I assumed that if all of these people can go over, then it wouldn't be a problem if I leaned in a little closer passed the chain to get a better picture.

So, I put one foot over the chain and leaned forward. One of the representatives comes running towards me and gets in my face. He starts screaming about how they have over a million dollars in inventory here and begins to tell me how I need to leave the building. Something about being escorted VIP's can only step over the chain or whatever.

He starts to call security on his radio, and while this is going on, someones kid grabs hold of one of the spoilers on the grey Exige and attempts to climb the car. I told the representative that I was just taking a picture, to go get F'd, and that maybe he should look at the kid behind him.

He seen the kid climbing up the back of the car and went banana's screaming for the kids parents. Unsurprisingly, nobody claimed the kid. I turned around and walked off before security ever showed up and went to see the rest of the cars.

Scion had a car that was just as small as the Smart Car. The headrests for the back seats were up against the rear glass. I would be fearful of a rear end collision in that one.

Nissan chopped the roof off of one of their SUV's.

No Porsches, Bentleys, Maserattis, Ferarri's, etc.. like the previous Auto Shows..

I will say this. Verano, Regal, and LaCrosse.... I cannot tell them apart from the front, but the interior is just so comfortable and nice. Very luxurious feeling, if you know what I mean. I really liked the LaCrosse. It fit like a glove, and I didn't want to take it off. I would consider one for a future car. Just a shame that it's FWD. The representatives for Buick were also nice and friendly. They were happy to answer any question you had, and had me leaving there with plenty of literature over the new cars.
