To all those who have expressed interest in the return of the Nailhead race class at the GSCA Nationals....

After speaking with Jim C./GSCA race director today it is fully up to
me/us = [Nailhead community]to get this class back. I will get everything in place for this, this year 2008 GS Nationals if I get some commitment from some of you.
I will post the rules for this class in a day or two. They will be much the same as in the past. I would like input from anyone interested in running in this class. This class has at times had a very big payout for so few cars competing. I will try to get some more sponsorship this week. I will post the info here as I get it. If anyone has a copy of the old rules could you please let me know. I can not find mine at the moment:Dou: .
I would like to use this year as a restart point for next year to build on. I was not expecting the green light on such short notice, but we got it:TU: .

If anyone wants you can pm or email me with any questions or reply here.

Anthony thanks for the response, I'll pencil you in:TU: .
I have heard from some of you regarding the rules, I hope I get some more input still.
    The rules are simple:

    Any Buick Nailhead
Any style/make body or lack there of.(as long as it is presentable i.e. paint, primed or bare just no major rust mobiles this is a family event:laugh: )
Any transmission or lack there of. (i.e. clutch only)if you can make it bolt-up to a Nailhead use it.
Any fuel or system/ any induction or power adders.
    Any size wheels and tires.
    Any weight.
All cars must run within .2 seconds of their dial-in.
If a handicap is greater than 5 seconds bye runs will determine winner.
All cars/drivers must pass tech for the et/mph run,
These rules can be added to or changed with input from the "community".
I am not sure what the payout will be for 08 due to short notice.
2009 will be a much larger payout with some sponsor credits and contingencies.

Cars will be teched using NHRA rules, you should be fine. Unless you found a bunch of extra power for your Nailhead:TU: .
Let me know if you need the info on the NHRA convertible rules.

Maybe I should clarify, as I'm drag racing illiterate.

    Would I need a roll bar/cage???

Cooterbfd, If you run faster than a 13.49 it looks like you would need a bar.
Here is a the NHRA quick reference guide.
    http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/ETQuickRef.html.
As I said before you should be ok unless you found a bunch of hidden power.
If you need more info let me know.

With 2 weeks to go before I leave for the Nationals, I was just wondering who would be racing in the Nailhead class:3gears: . I will be racing in bracket 1 and also in Nailhead if we need the numbers.
Let me know or post here. It is up to us(the Nailhead people) to make this work.
